Alex Michaelides was born and raised in Cyprus, a small island in the Mediterranean Sea by his parents who were of Cypriot and English origins. From a very young age of 11 he was a die hard fan of Agatha Christie and, reading her books gave him a lot of joy as a child. He has read most of the books of Agatha Christie. After completing his initial education, Michaelides moved to the United Kingdom to pursue his dream of becoming a writer. As he always dreamed of this since his childhood.

In the UK, he studied English literature at Trinity College from Cambridge University, where he honed his writing skills and developed a deep appreciation for the art of storytelling. After graduating, Michaelides worked in various creative fields, including screenwriting and playwriting. He wrote three films like ” The Devil You Know”, “The Con Is On” etc. Where he didn’t got that great success but he gained valuable experience crafting stories and developing characters.

It was during this time that Michaelides began working on his debut novel, “The Silent Patient.” He always wanted to become a writer and write this kind of books.
